Gavin's Kindergarten School Program

Gavin had his first Kindergarten (& 1st grade) singing concert at school last Monday night. He did such a fabulous job despite being nervous about his upcoming dentist appointment (the next morning, where he had major dental work done including 2 teeth pulled...more to come). School uniforms required for the concert as well.

Reese and Daddy kept busy before the concert with Daddy's ipod and games.

Despite getting to the school 30 minutes early, we got lousy seats. I went down and sat on the floor in the front with a friend so we could zoom out our cameras to maybe get a decent shot of our kids. This is the best I could get...out of many. Gavin's still cute at any angle and distance!

Any guesses what the concert theme was? TEXAS!!! Of course!

Here is part of the Texas State Anthem, "Texas, Our Texas" (click here to read lyrics) that the children sing everyday right after saying the pledge. Does your state have an anthem? Are kids required to sing it everyday after the pledge?

Here's a cute song titled, "T-E-X-A-S" sung to the Old MacDonald tune.

"Lone Star Trail" was a nice cowboy song...I think it might have put Gavin to sleep!

And no Texas program is complete without the "Deep in the Heart of Texas" sing along!

This is how the kids felt about the program! It was fun!
