We are trying to cram in a lot of Texas sized fun into our short time left here. Our good friends Ethan and Beckitt offered us two free passes into Six Flags and we couldn't turn down a trip to Six Flags! It's like the Disney of North Texas. The kids were so pumped and so was E & B's daughter Olivia.
It was Africa hot outside and Christopher got to have at least one child ride on his shoulders while waiting in line for rides. Fun, fun!
Our first ride was the Sombrero or something like that. Reese believed it would be harmless, much like the rides she's used to at the Texas State Fair.
Reese quickly freaked out as the ride sped up. She screamed bloody murder the entire ride. I laughed the entire ride. This is no kiddie ride in Reese's eyes!
Guess we should have remembered the infamous roller coaster ride picture from the Texas State Fair of last year. Of course after the ride was over, Reese was ready for more. Just like the dreaded balloon rides of the State Fair.
While Reese was pretty spooked. Caden was sitting like he was taking a ride through the park.
I don't think Reese will do well with "Fright Fest" in October if she can't handle a fly Mexican hat!
Next up, the fly boat ride. You know the kind.
The kids waiting patiently in line. Who do you think was the first to chicken out?
Gavin. Just as it was about to be our turn, he started panicking and screaming, "I don't want to go on this!" over and over! He cried as we told him he was weak and we were going to make him go on it since his 3 year old brother was. Finally we just let him wait outside the gate for us.
Reese was a little uncertain before the ride began and Bear was wondering if they were going to serve drinks during the flight.
That's right. Reese began to freak out again. She freaked out so bad this time that Bear got scared and started crying into my arms. The teenagers sitting in front of us got the whole thing captured on their cell phone. I've been checking YouTube.com all day long. I know it will show up. It was hilarious.
We were beginning to think there was no way we were going to be able to make it to the roller coasters with them at this rate. So we took it easy on the teacups.

Olivia and Bear would hold hands while in line at the water log ride and he would say she's his girlfriend. It was cute. We don't have pictures from that ride but it was a success! No deafening screams, everyone had fun.
Then it was time for the scrambler. Reese did really well with this ride last year at the fair. How would she fair on the bigger one at Six Flags?

Reese was TERRIFIED. Why do we keep subjecting her to such torture? She always got off these rides saying she liked it and wanted to keep doing them.For your viewing and listening pleasure, a sampling of Reese's screams of panic.
Back to more tame rides. Car rides around a track. Reese drove for the first little bit.
Reese driving. I think I can wait until well after she's 16 for a license!
Then half way through, Gavin got his turn at the wheel.
Caden drove mine and his car for the first little bit and then he wanted me to chauffeur him the second half. Ethan, Beckitt and Olivia were right behind us.
While Ethan and I went to go get drinks for our posse, Christopher and the kids rode inside some cowboy boots.
All the kids did well on this ride too.
Snack time involved Gavin scarfing down a humongous pretzel.
And Bear hit up the life size churro's.
Christopher and Ethan took turns with Beckitt and I watching the kids while we rode the shock wave roller coaster. Beckitt and I sat in the back and I peed my pants some. It was fun. Been a long time.
The boys got their kicks from the Batmobile near the Batman ride. I really wanted to ride that one, but there just wasn't enough time in the day. Bummer. Some other time. Reese and I were up on a parachute ride. It took us up in a chair hooked to a parachute really high, had great view for miles, and then released us. Reese freaked again. I'll admit, I did a little too. I kept it together for the sake of the children, but I could have peed my pants again.

We had been fighting with the kids during the day to not spend too much time in the water mist that is all over the park that by the time night came, we caved. We finished with a Batman airplane ride and let them loose.
They got pretty soaked for just the mist that usually evaporates before it hits you. It looks like they have ashes in their hair. During the day when Gavin would run up to one he would come out with his face all shimmering like it was made of diamonds.We had a lot of fun and were tempted to put the price of the kids tickets towards a season pass for the rest of the time we're here in Texas. However, we decided to save the extra money for season passes for the entire year at Lagoon in Utah. What else can we do there? Ideas?
The kids did really well and we all enjoyed ourselves which surprised Christopher and I b.c we are usually dealing with a cranky little one. I think we're ready for a trip to Disney! Christopher has always said we couldn't go until the kids got older and could handle it....I think we may just be there. YAY!
