Reese's First Soccer Game 2011

Reese waiting for her game to start before I realized that we were an HOUR early! I really need to double check team schedules before we head out. Luckily they play right down the street from us so no biggie.

Reese was rocking it on the soccer field! She fell right back into practice from her games in Texas. She even made A GOAL! Way to go on your first game baby girl!

Reese is number 4 and in the sassy pink and black cleats. Her team is 4X4 with no goalie and a smaller field. I have to admit, her game was a little more exciting than Gavin's.

The heat was killer though for those of us on the sidelines!

A little action shot of Reese doing her thing on the field. She is awesome and always on the ball. Makes her soccer daddy proud!

Gavin's First Soccer Game 2011

Gavin's first soccer game was this past Saturday. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed going and cheering him on. This is his first year playing soccer instead of baseball. I think it will be a good year. It's also the first year they play 8X8 with goalie and a huge field.

Gavin's number 25 seen here kicking the ball in. He doesn't have a set position on his team yet. The coach is trying them out in different spots to see where their strength lies. Interested to see where Gavin ends up.

Gavin got lucky and ended up with 3 other friends on his same team! BONUS! He's having a lot of fun and that's what counts.

Plus I love that all the games and practices are right close to home! YAY! They lost their first game 1-0 but the opposing team got lucky.

Lost His Marbles

Target Hamster Wheel

My kids love the Target bullseye outside our local Target store. They call it the Target Hamster Wheel and have to get on it EVERY.TIME.WE.GO.

What the?!?

On our way back from IKEA the other day we saw this guy in the highway turning lane. He's riding two bikes at once...

Angry Birds In House

We found some Angry Birds at the store the other day while purchasing Rio the movie. Bear (all the kids actually) like playing that game on my phone. Bear and I got a little creative and decided to purchase a bird and make our own Angry Birds game at home. It has been LOADS of fun!

Check out all the fun!

New Discovery's Preschool Open House

We got to go and visit Bear's new preschool this past week. They were having an open house and Bear got to create his own bug for the behavior board.
A lot of the moms were making their kids bug but I let Bear at it himself and he and I are quite pleased with his creation. He starts school next Wednesday, the 7th of Sept. his 5th BIRTHDAY! Lucky boy!

What a NUT!

We did a little rearranging of the boys room and when we did we found one of Bear's snow boot. Later that day while wondering where my kids were I found Bear outside like this. Mind you it was close to 100 degrees and he was wearing ONE snow boot. He's a nut!

Soccer Time

Reese and Gavin are signed up with USA soccer for the year (Fall and Spring). Here are some shots (with friend Fisher) of the kids before their first practice of the season.

I love that Bear thought he had to pose. He's doing basketball this year and then will start soccer next year. I can't be three places at once on a Saturday morning!

Mission Sisters

Yet another of my friends was in Utah visiting and I was able to meet up with her. This time from my mission. Jenni Noble Espanet (middle) came up to Daybreak to visit with Cydnee Barnum (who happens to be in my ward) and I. It was soo cool to catch up with her. She was one of my favorite sisters to serve with on the mission. Too bad this is a HORRENDOUS picture of me.

BBQ Block Party

Our neighborhood block friends and neighbors hosted a little end of the summer block party. It was loads of fun. I brought my camera and then left it on the ground. This is what I found once I recovered it.

Yes, the kids had fun, the adults had fun. Win, win! We love our neighbors and neighborhood!

Engineer

For Christmas last year Gavin got some Snap Circuits and it was one of the best gifts we have given yet. He has created some really neat gadgets and has learned quite a bit too. BONUS!

The other day he made a working radio. Check it out!

Harry Potter 7.2

Pa sent us some tickets to go see Harry Potter 7.2 and we surprised the kids. They were SO excited. I wish I had recorded their reactions. Needless to say Gavin's comment of "this is the best surprise I have ever had" says a lot.
The kids loved it! Thanks so much Pa! We love you!

Our Mayan Adventure

The other week we were out and drove past the Mayan Restaurant and I realized that we have lived in Utah for a year and a half and hadn't taken the kids there. There really aren't many fun restaurants here so we pulled right over and decided to get dinner there that night.

It was quite dark inside but the ambiance was just what the kids needed. We loved the rock divers and the kids ordered me a volcano birthday cake...and it wasn't even my birthday. I love it!

My birthday cake eruption.

Mayan divers. You can't see much b.c I only had my camera phone.

REAL Salt Lake Date Night

Christopher and I got a little date night to ourselves one weekend in the first part of August. It was heaven. Christopher surprised me with a REAL Salt Lake game. We have a lot of fun at those and it was a real treat to spend it with just him.
He had just come home from scout camp and had grown out this mustache that he swore was super cool. Yeah, that was gone the next morning. He's still so cute and I'm so glad that we continue to grow together and still have so much fun together! I love you!!
