Remember THIS POST from a little over 2 years ago? Hard to believe he's back! Phillip has successfully fulfilled a 2 year mission in Honduras and we were able to pick him up from the airport this last Monday. Christopher's parents went down there to pick him up and tour a little of his area and visit with some of his families and friends he had made over the years.
(While there, within a couple of days Scott and Cristi witnessed their first point blank murder on the streets. Phillip was unfazed! Happens all the time, along with gun point robberies. Yikes! I'll take the comforts and securities of the US ANY DAY!!!!! Again, shout out to our Vets! Thank you!)
Christopher's siblings and their families made it to the airport as well. After hugs and hellos, we left the airport taking the wrong exit which took us straight into downtown rush hour Dallas traffic. Not cool. However, with Christopher's superb heavy traffic, know DFW streets like the back of my hand skills, WE made it to the restaurant by our house in 1.5 hours. I can not, however, say the same for the other 2 cars with family that were supposed to follow us but somehow lost us (in traffic going 20 mph). Thank the heavens above I was not in one of those cars!
Everyone eventually made it to one of our family favorite restaurants,
The Texas Roadhouse, and in good spirits. Here is Cori
(sis-in-law) and Trent
(her husband). After having 3 boys, Cori is
finally getting her baby girl. Hooray! She is due in March. This next year Reese will finally have a girl cousin on both sides. Chelsea
(my brothers wife) is due with their girl in February.
Texas Roadhouse has awesome rolls but their cinnamon butter is to die for delicious. You may recall
this post where Reese, at Caden's age, loved to
eat the butter straight from the tub. Caden is no exception. I believe that is all he ate that night.
I love this picture b.c Caden looks like he's in pure ecstasy with his cinnamon butter.
Reese still loves her cinnamon butter, however she's graduated from eating it straight out of the tub to now spreading it all over the top of her roll and then licking it off the top of said roll. And licking the knives clean. It's dangerous yes, but nothing stops Reese from getting what she wants.
Christopher may have had or may not have had too much cinnamon butter as well. I don't know. The verdict is out however things got a little outta control.
Our man Phillip fresh from the land of HONDO!
The mess under the table from Gavin and Russell
(his cousin) and their peanut dinner. But isn't that what the floors are supposed to look like at the Roadhouse?!?!? And it's one of the reasons we love this restaurant. Besides the STEAK. Have to order steak! Yum.
We got some gas on the way home and saw that our favorite gas station now has drive through service. We thought it was actually quite funny. Gas was $1.94 a gallon, love that! Hope it lasts.
Granna brought lots of goodies back from Honduras. Reese got a little purse
(forgot to get a picture of) and this cute little dress. Reese had to model it immediately once we got home that night...late.
Caden and his turtle shirt.
My attempt in getting Gavin
(modeling his shirt), Reese and Caden to show off their new shirts so I could get a picture up for Granna. Oh, look, you can kinda see Reese's purse too. Not a complete failed attempt.
The next morning Reese had to wear her new dress to school. So we made it a little more modest with the leggings and the under shirt.
She thought she was jsut so super cool to be wearing a dress from Honduras.
And super cool she was indeed! Especially while she hopped on one foot and flashed hand signs! Thank you Granna and Pa for the great gifts from your trip. The kids loved them! As always. And
WELCOME HOME, PHILLIP!!

what a fun(long) day!
so scary about the shooting...i would be traumatized, are they okay?
and the dress is so darling on her!
How cool! Looks like a fun dinner. I noticed your dyson is making an appearance in the background of a picture! Soon it will somehow make it's way into just about every picture like ours! Love Caden's butter picture, and Reese's adorable dress!
Looks like it was a super fun reunion! We lOVE the Roadhouse as well except that mess is usually under Dave's chair. You're right Caden looks like he has died and gone to heaven eating that butter. GREAT shot.
How fun! Reese looks adorable as usual and LOVE the Caden eating butter pics, hilarious!
I must say Christopher's shirt is my favorite, but Reese wins the for the cutest. You do feed your kids more than just condiments right?
