We had fun playing Santa's Secret Elves this Christmas season. This is one of our treats we took to various families and neighbors. The kids got to ring the doorbell and run. They thought it was loads of fun and I got to stay in a warm car! BONUS!
It's a shame that this girl has so many cute clothes in her closet that she will only wear this twice this season....
I'm glad she still lets me make her dresses and skirts and she'll actually wear them. Not sure when all that will end but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. For Valentines we are thinking a peasant dress....
This picture represents the first and only time any one of my children have sat on Santa's or Mrs. Claus lap. We went to the Olympic Oval Holiday Festival this past weekend and had a lot of fun. The kids sat on Santa's lap.
They got to play on all sorts of bounce houses/obstacle courses.
We ate pizza and root beer...on the floor. There were no tables available...too many people.
This is the END of two very long lines. You can't even see the front. We had to wait in these lines to get skates for ice skating. We would never wait in a line like this, but we had paid for our rentals at the door before seeing the lines and so there was no turning back. While Christopher waiting in line, I took the kids to various exhibits....where we were met with more lines.
We waited in line for balloons.

We waited in line for some face painting. My kids got real original and asked for a snowman and a Christmas tree. All three of them.
After those activities we met up with Christopher just in time to get our skates. Gavin turned out to be a natural.
Reese, not so much.
I went around with Bear and unfortunately, his skates were a little too small and there was NO WAY we were going to wait in line again to switch them out.
We got about half way around the track before he just collapsed on the ice and refused to skate anymore and demanded his skates off.
At this point Bear couldn't stand having paint on his face and scratched it all off with a vengeance.
And then we waited again for the ice machine -Zamboni- to re-ice the rink.
Reese got crazy and started dancing with her ice skates on for entertainment.
Then it was time for skating once again. Bear and I sat out and while people watching I noticed a family pushing a stroller on the ice. I was about to call them dorks until I saw that the man of the family was wearing a TEXAS Longhorns sweatshirt and cut them some slack b.c now taking a stroller on the ice was totally cool.
Not long after the stroller family debacle the ice patrol brought Gavin to me with the paramedics b.c apparently Gavin had taken a hit to the head while falling. He was fine but a little shaken up. Bear still scratching at his face...
He was tough and got back up and out on the ice after not too long of a break.
By the end of the night Reese was able to skate while just holding Christopher's hand.
Christopher met up with Gavin on ice and did some father/son skating for a little while until the other kids were demanding a Santa and ice sculpture visit.
We took in a little ice hockey gaming.
That ice was awesome. The sphere was so perfect all reflection was upside down. This guy knew what he was doing.
And our night in Kearns wouldn't be complete with a little emergency action to top it off. Overall, it was a fun night. Pretty sure we wont do this again next year however. We got there when it opened 6pm and only planned on staying a couple hours. We left at 10pm...closing time. Why? B.c half of that time was waiting in lines....not my idea of fun. They really need to make this more than one day a year and for 4 hours. I've also gotta find more holiday fun around here in the SL valley...
