Gavin's school party was an ice cream sunday party! They each got a Valentine cup, 2 scoops of ice cream and could top it with about 7 different toppings. Gavin chose sprinkles...just sprinkles.
Capri Sun for drinking, which Gavin is still learning how to suck through a straw since having his front teeth pulled. Just look at that cute toothless smile!
Gavin had to make his Valentine box at home and bring it in to school. Christopher helped him out and I just think the box turned out great! It was also jean day today!
Then it was time for opening his Valentines' received from friends. Another toothless smile b.c he's so cute and my only child that will smile for me and my camera.
Yay for candy, right!?!?! I know I've had enough and it's not even Valentine's Day!
There was a little time to kill before the last bell so they played a Valentine Bingo game. Can you guess where Gavin is? (Butt shot straight up into the sky!)
Then Mrs. T read a little Junie B. Jones to all the kids. While the story was being read Gavin was sitting on my lap and make some videos.
Today was Reese's big day at school. She couldn't wait for her Valentine party at school. From the looks of her treat bag above, I'd say she sure was shown a lot of love!
Lots of yummy treats. Cupcakes made by Reesie herself, cookies, fruit, cheese and drink! This was before the candy!

Caden was pretty shy this time around. He didn't feel like participating in the Valentine party and just stuck to playing with the classroom toys. He didn't eat anything, not one thing. He must be coming down with something...that is WAY out of the norm for this child.
Reese did a little fishing while she waited for everyone to finish eating.
Then it was time to open all the treats left in our baggie from our friends. Reese really enjoyed this part.

And of course we got a picture with her BFF Madison just before it was time to head home. So cute!

Earlier this week while she was addressing her class Valentines I thought it was cute how she "spelled" her name. She doesn't use the American Alphabet. No, she has her own. She writes her name like this on anything. And it's always the same. I find it so fascinating.
She recognizes all the alphabet letters and can name them and their sounds, yet, this is how she spells her name. With characters only Reese identifies with. Silly girl. I wonder what will happen next year when her teacher will expect her to use the American Alphabet?
This is the second to last photo of Gavin with his two front teeth! If you've been reading our blog for a while, then you will remember our dental drama. If not, this post near the end of the post gives really good detail, and this post is good too. (Follow the links inside the post for yet even more detail.) Gavin was waiting patiently in this picture for his "Transformer" bubble gum oral sedation drink and getting weighed (43 lbs!). This is PART ONE of a two part treatment plan for Gavin's teeth.
Then we went back into the waiting room for a little over an hour to make sure all was being "sedated".
Instead, he was bouncing around playing with a toy car he received from one of the hygienists that just love him. Needless to say, I was a little worried for him. I was expecting him to be more like his last sedation.
Worried for nothing however b.c once the "orange nose" came out and the laughing gas attached, he was in La La Land! A good place to be, when at the dentist.
Gavin's last photo with his two front teeth! All smiles and high on nitrous oxide! I didn't get to take awesome pictures like his last visit and I really wish I had! I was alone with Gavin this time however and he needed me to hold his hand. Poor kid. He was really concerned about loosing his two front teeth. I has friends with them missing and those that have their permanent ones grown in, however, he also lives with his sister who has been missing hers since she was two! He just wants to make sure it doesn't take that long to get his new teeth.
Here's Gavin after all the dental work was finished. Check out how wasted he looks! It was funny. No funny sayings this time around. He was really tired and nervous...older.
He laid on the chair for about 10 minutes after the procedure to take in oxygen and let the nitrous oxide work its way out of his system.

Now isn't that nasty! B.c of his hypoplasia, his teeth are in sad shape. We can only hope and pray that his permanent teeth will not have this condition. Otherwise, it will been composite resin or porcelain veneers for life!
The tooth fairy made a visit to Gavin last night. He got $5, a Pokemon pack and a note. Hey, the tooth fairy's been hit with the economy too! He was quite happy! Still can't eat much, hasn't even touched his ice cream he picked out and is at school. Hope he's feeling OK. My poor baby!
Gavin had his first Kindergarten (& 1st grade) singing concert at school last Monday night. He did such a fabulous job despite being nervous about his upcoming dentist appointment (the next morning, where he had major dental work done including 2 teeth pulled...more to come). School uniforms required for the concert as well.

Despite getting to the school 30 minutes early, we got lousy seats. I went down and sat on the floor in the front with a friend so we could zoom out our cameras to maybe get a decent shot of our kids. This is the best I could get...out of many. Gavin's still cute at any angle and distance!

Reese has been on a huge "Fancy Nancy" obsession as of late. Dolls, books, clothes and of course, accessories!!! Thank her lucky stars she has a Granna that likes to spoil her rotten with said accessories! Reese is our very own "Fancy" in the house! It's so cute! She is such a girlie, girl...which is so foreign for me!
Yeah, he can whip one of these bad boys out in an evening of Lego fun. He's been amazing us with Lego's since he was just a wee babe.
His finger was swollen, hot, hard and colorful and less...if that's possible and apparently very painful. It also appeared as if the hole in his finger was getting bigger. I feared the worse and took him into the doctor to get it checked out.
I almost left the doctors office before being seen b.c there were a lot of sick kids there with the flu and even had 2 kids puke right in front of us! We marinated in the nasty for half an hour before I was just about to walk out and they called us in. I'm glad I stuck around. Turns out, Caden had the beginnings of a staph infection.
Just after 24 hours, his finger was looking much better. B.c this type of infection affects the deep tissues of skin, he's shedding skin and it is now really raw. Yesterday it was cleared up enough to see the actual splinter still in his finger. Today it has worked its way out. I'll take an updated picture of his finger when he gets back from the Barn. Weekend at the Barn!
