Back to School night for Gavin started with a little bus ride.
There was a shuttle bus in our neighborhood that can take you to the school
(to prevent parking problems) if you so desire. Christopher thought it might be fun for the younger kids to take a ride. He was right, Bear LOVED it!
Reese thought it was pretty cool too.
Gavin and Daddy!
We were dropped off right in front of the school. Great service!
On Gavin's way to his 1st grade class, he passed by his old Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Tulley!
Gavin with his new 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Garrett. He really likes her. We have been so blessed. Fortunately, we can't go wrong with this school. Great school!
Gavin quickly found his desk and started unloading all his school supplies from his backpack.
Lots of paperwork. Every year.
Afterwords we headed over to the cafeteria for a some light refreshments. I had to include this picture b.c Reese's face is just so funny.

Bear went through the line for goodies several times. The boy is an animal. I love the look on his face.

The kids quickly met up with some friends. Hannah and Hunter. We call Hannah Gavin's "international girlfriend". They are both so energetic and excited all the time they do stuff that makes you do a double take meanwhile they aren't thinking anything of it.
Examples: First, last school year during Field Day Hannah and Gavin were in a group with me. While eating lunch Gavin was sitting on a chair outside and Hannah comes up and straddles him on his lap and starts moving around....OK, you get the picture. Christopher and I call that the "Spanish Spider". I had to ask Hannah to get down and explained that it isn't appropriate to sit on boys like that. Didn't phase these two. The principle happened to be with us at the time and was like "we usually have the 'good touch, bad touch" talk with the kids starting in 1st grade...maybe we need to move it to K." It was funny.
Second, just that night while visiting with her parents we look at them and they are touching their tongues together as if French Kissing outside the mouth! These two!! Anyway, that's how she got her name....Gavin's international girlfriend.

This was Gavin's reaction to us calling her that. He was not happy. "SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!!!!"

ps, do u realize how lucky u r that u have a bus to pick u up for a parent night????
Don't you remember the conversations we had about boyfriends. "I don't have a boyfriend. He is just a boy that happens to be my friend, but he is not my boyfriend." The roles have reversed.
How cool that a bus picks you up! We so need that. Good luck with the teen years!
