One of many, many Lego bins!
The kids have recently started having what they call "Lego Wars". They create little bases where they have battles with each other. These pictures were taken the first day. They have gotten way more elaborate nowadays. They also make little "stores" and small Lego pieces as money and have values. I'll have to get an updated picture. It's pretty cute, but it is also the cause of much contention...
We got a little snow a couple weeks ago and the kids decided they needed to make a little snow man. They got creative.
It was the night before Bear's Valentine's party when we realized that he didn't have any! We stayed up burning the midnight oil making these little diddy's. He picked out the papers and designs for each kid! What a cute little Valentine he is!
Bear had his first preschool field trip to the Sweet's Candy Factory. He got to go on a tour of the factory and sample all the tafy and candies! He even got to wear a hair net (which made Ms. Anno freak out...nothing messes with that Utah claw!) which had him happy.
We left with a bag full of candy and one happy little boy!
Reese technically "lost" her first tooth her first year of life. The "dragon tooth" was less than 6 months when it had to be pulled as explained in this post. The sight of a little blood freaked her out.
It was seriously wobbling around when Reese asked to put some thread around it and pull. She did it!
Bear has really taken an interest in Legos. Not like Gavin had at this age. At 4 Gavin was doing large piece sets. Bear likes the small sets but what he really enjoys is just using pieces from Gavin's ginormous Lego conglomerate and making "free play" and they say. It's so fun watching his little mind open to new things. LOVE IT!
These two can't get enough of these little do-it-yourself marble mazes! It's so fun to see what contraptions they come up with each day! There are no ordinary moments someone recently told me...and I want to remember them all.
I got pretty lucky this February with our little Valentine mailboxes. I came downstairs one night to find a surprise that was waiting for me. The LOVE was so big and great that it would not fit into the mailbox.
Christopher took a few minutes to decorate the wrapping and then take lots of pictures. Best way to remember it in all its glory. So... what was inside....
It was a NOOK! Barnes & Nobles version of a Kindle. I have been enjoying books quite often these days (been waiting all my life for this day...when I didn't have school books to read, or small children with constant needs) and this is PERFECT! I like the Nook over the Kindle b.c I can get books from my local library right to my Nook...for FREE!
On February 3rd, we celebrated Chinese New Year withe the kids. We put out our table setting from my sister Alyssia (she lives in Japan) and chowed down the best Chinese we could muster... Panda Express! lol
Reese got really into character for the dinner! She's a pro at the chop sticks!
Gavin was a party pooper that night. Refused to use the chop sticks, wouldn't give us the peace sign OR pose for a picture. 
Bear gave it his best shot and managed to get a grain or two of rice on his chop sticks but got quickly frustrated and went for his fork.

We LOVE that it is the year of the Rabbit b.c we are Jackrabbits THROUGH and THROUGH, baby! YEAH! Maybe this year will be our year to return to the land of Forney? I wish. I'm counting on you Year of the Rabbit!
Starting February 1st (today) I am going to surprise everyone each morning with a little love note and a special V-Day treat. Something small most days, but maybe a few bigger things other days. And I'm going to encourage everyone to write little love notes to stick in each others mailboxes for those two weeks leading up to our annual V-Day dance party. I love that the boxes even have flags. Can't wait to see the excitement on the kids' faces when they see the flags raised, signifying that something is waiting for them inside!
We spent some quality family time decorating the boxes (also with dollar spot decorations). This is Reese's. She got a little excited with the hearts!
