"Oh, Awesome"

We were at the Barn a few weekends ago. Everyone was laying down watching Spongebob (yes, we love him) when Gavin gets up and says, "Oh, awesome". I turn around to see what he's talking about and he tells me his tooth fell out.

This is a big deal. Even though he doesn't have his two front teeth, they were pulled by the dentist. This tooth however, is his FIRST tooth to actual leave his mouth on its own.

Finally. He turns 7 next week! He's really becoming a toothless wonder. Wonder when his permanent teeth will show up!

East Texas Wildlife & Alligator Farm

Just before school started last month I took the kids and Hunter out to see some Texas gators!

We were able to get up close to some gators and their unnaturally colored water.

Reese thought they were "cute". Cute from a safe distance and behind a safety fence!

Somehow they didn't seem that menacing while in that nasty colored water.

It was crazy hot that day! NO ONE was there and not many of the wildlife was out. It would have been fun to have been there during feeding hours, however, we were not. And we weren't about to stick around until the next.

Common sense? What's that?

Gavin found an old boat and hopped on. Rowing!

The other kids found the bounce house. I think that was the biggest hit. Always.

It was seriously so hot. It was somewhere in the 100's but it was the HUMIDITY that was killer! Ugh. I was drenched! Drenched I tell you! The boys enjoyed cooling down under the mister.

We finally decided to call it a day and cool off with an Icee.

What's for Dinner?

One night I asked Christopher to grill up some chicken that I could freeze into meals. He put the chicken on the grill and promptly forgot about them. So did I as we had already eaten for he night and we got involved in a movie. It wasn't until we were going to bed that night, late, that I remember about the chicken.

Or what was left of it. The next morning I went out to take a look. The chicken was literally cooked to ashes. As soon as you touched it, it crumbled into ashes.

Looks appetizing, right? Yum!

Boredom Buster

Gavin got bored one summer afternoon and decided to entertain himself with the items above.

What ever would he be able to come up with?

Any guesses? He has a white marble (at the bottom of the ramp in the picture) that rolls down and then lands by the earbuds to listen to his "favorite song".

And what is Gavin's favorite song, you ask? I was surprised myself.

Handyman-Revisited

We had a leak in our toilet that was costing us 60 bucks a month extra on our water bill. Not cool. But my goose was up for the challenge. It only took him a few days to get it right, but that "don't work"...works. I love that Christopher can make me laugh even when I'm stressed about toilets.

Christopher also made my formally white oven...BLACK. Now it matches my new refrigerator which is black, microwave, dishwasher...you know, all appliances. Looks great and so does my goose!

Medieval Times

Gavin took his cousin Russell to Medieval Times in Dallas for Russell's birthday. It was a boys paradise!

Motes.

Knights, kings and death with killer swords.

The flag of their fathers...or something like that.

The sat on the front row and got to cheer for the yellow knight.

Watched the show while eating an ENTIRE rotisserie chicken each.

3 years & 600th Post

So, I seem to have forgotten that I have a blog. Seriously. I decided to upload my camera and there are just too many pics to even blog. I used to enjoy blogging, unfortunately now, it annoys me like a chore on my to-do list! 3+ years and 600 posts and I'm burnt out....

This is suppose to be our family digital journal/scrapbooking. You know, that I make into blog books. I haven't even really started the one that was due this past July. Seen me much on your blog? Yep, burnt out in all aspects of blogging.

I must carry on (for the sake of the children, as Christopher puts it)...but I can't promise I'll be constant or happy about it!

Besides, come November, the "Forney Five" will be a thing of the past... (and don't even get me started on that!)
